The treasure hunt begins in the travertine terraces of Yellowstone’s Mammoth Hot Springs, and sails on with some splashy whitewater rafting on the Yellowstone River. The next day look for rainbows in the waterfall mist at the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, and watch for bison, coyotes, elk, and maybe even a bear in the Hayden Valley. Things heat up with a day of exploring Yellowstone’s colorful hot springs, bubbling mud pots, and spouting geysers. Heading south into Grand Teton National Park toward Jackson, your guide hunts up the perfect hiking trails and interpretive centers. An idyllic boat ride across Jenny Lake rewards you with stunning views of the Tetons (hike back around the lake if you’d like), and a wildlife-watching float on the beautiful Snake River, under the watchful gaze of the mountains, crowns the adventure.
With each bend of the road and turn of the river you’ll discover beautiful secrets, hidden off the beaten path in two of America’s most cherished national parks. —Barbara Mall, Off the Beaten Path Travel Advisor
