Trip Motif National Parks Joshua Tree And Death Valley : Journey Highlights

This mix-it-up trip covers all the bases, from the quiet, austere desert-scapes of Joshua Tree and Death Valley to quirky California-style charm. The adventure begins in and around Palm Springs with hiking and exploring at Indian Canyons, with its fan and skirted palms, endangered bighorn sheep, and unusual rock formations. In a little bit of cultural whiplash, on the way to Joshua Tree stop at the Integratron, “a resonant tabernacle and energy machine” in the Mojave Desert for a “sound bath.” Come back gently to earth with a full day and a half of hiking and exploring the quiet wilderness of Joshua Tree National Park, and enjoy dark night skies for star gazing. From Joshua Tree it’s on to the matchless Death Valley, with its endangered pupfish and 20 Mule Team history. You have a full day to explore by van and on foot, with time to relax at your exquisite accommodations, the Inn at Furnace Creek.

  • Unique natural areas: Indian Canyons and Joshua Tree and Death Valley National Parks conserve their own special parts of California’s natural heritage.
  • Fun hiking: This hiking-focused trip gets you onto very diverse trails through a variety of landscapes.
  • Memorable lodgings: Culturally historic, one of a kind lodgings add fun and charm to the journey.
  • Naturalist guide: Your expert guide reveals all manner of wonders surrounding the natural and cultural histories of the places you visit.

You’ll explore some of the state’s most fascinating and out of the way natural areas, plus get a fun taste of that quirky California culture. It’s pure Off the Beaten Path! –Cory Lawrence, OBP CEO
