Trip Motif Wildlife Natural History Seasons Of Yosemite : Journey Highlights

Go deep into the beautiful Yosemite Valley on this journey, to transcend time and retrace the steps that inspired John Muir. Yosemite is a treasure of waterfalls, towering cliffs, monumental rock faces, expansive vistas, and impressive, imponderable groves of giant sequoias. Near the south end of the park, walking in the Mariposa Grove among the gargantuan trees is a moving experience you’ll never forget. You’ll also hike, walk, and witness the park’s other iconic features, such as El Capitan, Half Dome, Glacier Point, Bridalveil Fall, and Lower Yosemite Falls. Moving farther off the beaten path you’ll hike in Hetch Hetchy too, Yosemite’s lesser-traveled secret.

  • National Parks Conservation Association, Springtime in Yosemite trip: Join the special NPCA-hosted departure May 17-22, 2015, for the inside story on Yosemite’s natural, cultural, and conservation history.
  • Giant sequoias: The Mariposa Grove holds some 500 giant trees, one of which is 210 feet tall, 30 feet in diameter, and probably more than 2,000 years old.
  • National park lodges: Stay at the gracious, National Historic Landmark Wawona Hotel, and at the perfectly situated Yosemite Lodge at the Falls.
  • Top-notch guide: Your expert guide will lead you deeply into the history and natural wonders of this very special place.
